Metrology
Bespak Metrology capabilities have been established to reduce the timescale of medical device development through to production scale-up, whilst optimising value in routine re-supply.
In-house Computer Tomography (CT) Scanning capability has demonstrated its value to customers in both New Product Introduction and Manufacture. The CT scanner significantly reduces the time required to generate full component dimensional inspection reports for mould tool approval. Further, it allows rapid diagnosis of functional issues during device development thereby reducing the number of design iterations required to establish functional robustness.
All component deviations from the original design intent can be quickly identified by comparing the actual component scan with original CAD data. Differences may result from actual tool dimensions or moulding process variations. Individual components can be compared against one another to identify differences which often provide valuable diagnostic clues for discovery. Output can be in the form of a quantitative inspection report or visual, where colour changes in a chromatogram indicate difference.
Bespak have been using CMM's (Co-ordinate Measurement Machines) for routinely measured IPC (In Process Control) dimensions of moulded medical components for almost 20 years. Bespak's Metrology team are experienced in providing the best Metrology solution from design, through fixture manufacture and qualification.
Bespak engages in continuous evaluation of new Metrology platforms and sources alternate ways of working to reduce the complexity and improve performance for Metrology to enhance added value for our customers.
