Facilities Technician (Milton Keynes)

We are currently looking to recruit a Facilities Technician, to be based at our Milton Keynes site.  The main purpose of the Facilities Technician role will be to ensure that planned maintenance activities and repairs are completed on all building services, structures and related equipment. This position is also to advise and support the business on all aspects of site facilities.  Further information on this role is given below.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • To ensure all common plant and services are maintained to appropriate levels, ensuring documentation and record keeping is completed as required by customers, legislative and regulatory bodies.
  • To assist in the development and improvement of facilities systems.
  • To prepare base data for the Site Facilities maintenance and utilities budget for UK plants.
  • To assist in the preparation of specifications and preliminary cost negotiations with suppliers and potential suppliers.
  • To support the preparation of maintenance contracts within budgetary constraints.
  • To manage small projects within building services and ensure work is carried out to specifications, priorities and deadlines.
  • To identify, recommend and procure replacement plant and equipment.
  • To control and monitor the performance of facilities external contractors, ensuring compliance to specifications and company procedures.
  • To ensure that statutory requirements concerning pressure, lifting, fire, environment and utilities are met in full, and equally satisfy the requirements of the Company insurers.
  • To provide breakdown cover and support at all times where possible for building services. To provide a call out service on an agreed rota basis.
  • Administration duties including generation of purchase orders, signing in contractors and out of hours visitors.

Team Coach

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Leader / Team Coach to manage and maintain work activities to meet product Stream/Manufacturing unit objectives and requirements within approved processes, policies and procedures.

Key Duties & Accountabilities

  • Manage operational activities to meet work requirements
  • Maintain healthy, safe and productive working conditions
  • Monitor and control the allocation and use of resources
  • Implement and maintain quality systems
  • Lead the work of team to achieve objectives
  • Selects staff for activities and roles which optimises their contribution

Maintenance Technician

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to work as part of a team to provide a manufacturing equipment service in terms of repair, planned maintenance and improvement

Key Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate effective delivery of personal technical skills to support manufacturing equipment in line with business needs.
  • To operate in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, departmental procedures, company policy and GMP.
  • To work as part of a team to ensure targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met.
  • To support the maintenance of the moulding and assembly operations.
  • To implement, evolve and carry out the planned and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Communicate problems and issues encountered, which impact manufacturing schedules or deployed maintenance plans.
  • To identify process improvement opportunities and implement within all area.
  • To provide general operational support to the team and to carry out any other duties as reasonably requested

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • This role requires a working knowledge of statistical control systems and the ability to use drawing, manuals and circuit diagrams as appropriate.
  • City & Guilds General Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • City & Guilds Electrical Systems and Electronic or equivalent
  • City & Guilds General Maintenance Techniques or equivalent
  • Machine control systems PLC/ASI/Pneumatics/HMI
  • Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical trade apprenticeship
  • Demonstrable experience in a manufacturing environment employing electric/hydraulic moulding machines and ancillary equipment and bespoke automatic assembly equipment.
  • Experience in vision systems, pneumatics and printer/laser marking systems highly desirable

We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to work as part of the Moulding Engineering team to provide installation support for new Moulding Equipment and routine maintenance.

Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical support for new product introduction within production.Reporting to the Manufacturing Systems Manager, your function will be to specify, install, commission and validate new manufacturing equipment to meet production demands and to liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time. This role will also require production of validation documentation to meet regulatory requirements and identifying and implement improvements to manufacturing issues.

Key Duties & Accountabilities 

  • Engineering responsibility for new equipment and improvement (QCDSM) projects
  • To plan and execute approved projects for both existing and emerging technology to agreed specifications and targets (cost, time and performance) either by leadership of work packages or contributing as a team member
  • To provide technical support for multi-skilled technicians, covering all assembly, moulding and packaging issues
  • Ensure that the production processes are capable and robust
  • Execute validation activities at Bespak and supplier premises
  • To identify areas of improvement in the production processes and techniques for ongoing cost effectiveness
  • To use a sound, evidence based approach to problem solving and quality enhancement
  • Ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met
  • To evaluate and select suppliers against specification and manage those suppliers to project completion
  • To communicate project status to the programme/ Team manager and customer as appropriate
  • To be responsible for documentation from specification to production handover, and ensure it meets GMP requirements
  • To ensure that training and handover procedures are completed to user satisfaction
  • To develop and improve planned preventative maintenance programmes
  • To provide process expertise/support in area of speciality (assembly, moulding, Elastomer)

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • Project management experience involving new equipment installation
  • Proven and significant experience within a manufacturing industry ideally within high speed automation assembly, injection moulding, RF Plasma or other electro-mechanical equipment experience.

Mould Systems Technician x 2

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for 2 Mould Systems Technicians to provide Operations teams with full technical support in developing, maintaining and continuously improving all moulding processes, tooling and equipment

Key Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Provide process support to Operational areas to ensure compliance with tool validation procedures
  • Demonstrate logical, data driven approach to problem solving and quality investigation
  • To drive and develop expertise in installation of tooling and run an acceptable process
  • Facilitate and coach the moulding technical operator role, its skills and competencies requirements to support operational objectives
  • Identify and implement areas of continuous improvement within the moulding and related processes. Assist in the managing of such projects and generation of plans, utilising 6 Sigma methodologies
  • Carry out Tool approval trials of new and refurbished Mould tooling to required standard, timescale, cost and quality, thus enabling process capability to tolerances and dimensions, in line with component specifications
  • Develop effective communications with external moulding engineering specialists, internal customers and tooling and equipment suppliers
  • Operating in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, departmental procedures, company policy and GMP
  • To identify, and with maintenance support and engineering, correct machine faults
  • To maintain written records and create detailed reports on proposed improvements.

Required Experience & Competencies:

  • Experience of working in a cGMP manufacturing environment
  • NVQ Level III Polymer processing or equivalent
  • Polymer Technology qualification an advantage
  • Proven experience in high volume injection moulding environment
  • Tooling/equipment maintenance experience an advantage
  • Experienced practitioner in all aspects of IT, e.g., SAP, MS office

Toolmaker x 3 Permanent

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an apprentice trained mould toolmaker to work on pharmaceutical injection mould tooling within a production support toolroom.  This position will report to the toolroom team leader. This position will be a rotating 3 shift x 5 day work pattern.

 Key Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Repair, maintenance, fault finding, tool approval and modification of new and existing tooling
  • To work in accordance with Health & Safety regulations, departmental procedures, company policy and GMP
  • Actively participating in and facilitating continuous improvement on tooling
  • To maintain and update relevant documentation
  • To work as part of a team to ensure cell targets for delivery, quality and efficiency are met
  • To repair and maintain injection mould tools to specified tolerances and to design, manufacture and repair special purpose tools
  • To assist in the production of tooling quotes and tool production plans
  • Identify and implement areas of continuous improvement within the tooling and production areas.  Assist in the managing of such projects and generation of plans
  • Develop effective communications with external tooling support, internal customers and suppliers as required

Required Experience & Competencies:

In addition to the required professional and technical expertise, candidates will have strong analytical skills, flexibility and customer focus.  The ability to work as part of a team is essential for this role.

  • Toolmaking apprenticeship
  • Proven post apprenticeship experience
  • Detailed working knowledge of appropriate equipment and tools and the ability to read and use highly technical drawings
  • Experience of multi cavity tooling that utilises hot runner valve gate systems is highly desirable
