Regimen Assurance and Assistance Devices

Incorporated into a standard Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) configuration, a Regimen Assurance Device (RAD) is designed to help patients comply with the prescribed regimen. The device helps by reminding patients with an audio-visual signal when specific doses are required and can also be used to 'lock-out' users and prevent accidental misuse of potent and potentially harmful therapies (e.g. opioid analgesics).

PIN protection can be used to prevent abuse or misuse by persons other than the prescribed user and the RAD provides patients with information on when the last and next dose should be administered.
